Student Leadership Programs – Region VII Best Practices
From Kansas: The R.E.A.L Scholars Project was developed based on observed needs of multicultural high school students in Manhattan, KS. This school-based program is designed to recognize and further develop students who have a commitment to academic achievement and leadership. Through on-going contact, positive relationships are established and maintained. Students are exposed to an array of opportunities that empower them to achieve at high levels while developing solid leadership skills that will have personal benefits and are of service to the school/local community. R.E.A.L Scholars are empowered to successfully complete high school and secure entry into post-secondary education.
